Songs of a Goddess
with the Artship Ensemble
Friday, March 20th – 8:00PM
Within the hidden depths of the molecular, cellular, and imaginative self of each one of us are the echoes of primordial myths and ways of knowing. Artship Ensemble's excerpts attempt to call up the collective memory, evoking this ancient wisdom and bringing it into our contemporary world. We invite you to join us for Songs of a Goddess, a poetic and nurturing sampler of the Ensemble's past and future work.
The evening will include:
Hajri Ma Te Dijke, a Gypsy song
Tarantella Dance History
Prehistoric Clay Figures and Ancient Polyphonic Toning, a mini-lecture
Demeter and Kore, a dance
The Map of the Heart, a poem by Moira Roth
Zajdi, Zajdi, a Macedonian folk song
Archaic Now, toning and singing together with the audience
Tender Stone, a special preview of their upcoming 2010
performance piece
