Education & the Soul

Tuesday, June 2nd, – 7:30 - 9:30PM

Kalliopeia Foundation is pleased to invite educators and parents for an evening discussion with scientist and scholar Sraddhalu Ranade, who will speak on integral education in the tradition of the late Indian visionary Sri Aurobindo. Proposing a radically different way of experiencing education and our role in it as parents and teachers, Sraddalu will discuss principles and techniques of education that foster in both children and adults a revivified sense of wonder and a more soulful engagement with the world.

Tracking the evolution of the human spirit in the fields of physics, artificial intelligence, and personality development, his decades of interdisciplinary research lend a unique perspective on the potential of education to nurture the depths of a child. Please join us for an illuminating dialogue, and please forward this invitation to your contacts for whom this may be of interest.

SRADDHALU RANADE is a scientist, educationist and scholar at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram where he grew up in the care of the late Sri M. P. Pandit. He is presently involved in the production of video programs based on India's cultural roots, and conducts teacher-training programs based on a soul-centered approach to education. He has conducted numerous intensive teacher-training workshops in Integral and value-based education all over India. Over 4500 teachers from more than 200 schools and colleges have benefited from these programs. He has been involved in various research projects including artificial intelligence based on neural networks, multimedia search and retrieval, and educational tools. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences on science and spirituality and lectures around the world on the yoga teachings of Sri Aurobindo.
